The All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) is the admission test conducted by National Law University, Delhi for its own programmes — the flagship five-year BA LLB (Hons), the postgraduate LLM and the doctoral PhD. AILET UG is a two-hour, comprehension-based paper of 150 multiple-choice questions across three sections — English Language, Current Affairs & General Knowledge, and Logical Reasoning. The English and Logical Reasoning sections are built around passages you read and then reason about, so the paper rewards careful reading and clear thinking rather than memorised law. Reading is the master skill. The English and Logical Reasoning sections are passage-based, so candidates who read quickly and accurately gain time across the paper. Build a daily habit of reading editorials, opinion pieces and quality non-fiction, and practise extracting the main idea, the author's tone and what can and cannot be inferred from a passage.

For Logical Reasoning, drill the critical-reasoning method until it is automatic: identify the conclusion, the premises and the assumption of an argument, and judge what strengthens, weakens or validly follows from it. Keep Current Affairs and static general knowledge ticking over with steady revision of durable facts — Indian polity, history, geography and world affairs — and take full-length timed mocks so the two-hour paper and the 0.25 negative mark hold no surprises on exam day.
