What is the DSSSB examination?
The Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) conducts recruitment examinations for a very large number of posts under the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi and its autonomous bodies, local bodies and corporations. These range from teaching posts — Primary Teacher (PRT), Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) and Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) — to clerical and administrative posts such as Junior Assistant, Grade IV DASS, Patwari, and technical posts like Junior Engineer, among many others.
Selection is through a Computer Based Test that follows a one-tier or two-tier pattern depending on the post. The Tier I paper typically carries 200 marks: a common Section A of 100 marks (General Awareness, General Intelligence & Reasoning, Arithmetical & Numerical Ability, and Hindi and English Language & Comprehension, 20 questions each) and a post-specific Section B of 100 marks. Because the paper has negative marking of one-fourth, accuracy and disciplined attempting decide the score.
