The Executive Trainee scheme is GAIL's flagship entry route for young graduates: selected candidates join at the executive (E2) grade and are groomed through structured training into engineers and managers who run these businesses.

Selection is merit-based. Candidates are shortlisted through a written test (or, in many cycles, a valid GATE score in the relevant discipline), after which shortlisted candidates face a Group Discussion and/or Personal Interview and a pre-employment medical examination.
