Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education that runs the Kendriya Vidyalayas — a large chain of central government schools across India and a few abroad, set up mainly to educate the children of transferable central government employees. KVS recruits teachers for three broad levels: Primary Teacher (PRT) for the primary classes, Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) for the middle/secondary classes, and Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) for the senior secondary classes.

Selection is based on a computer-based written test followed, where applicable, by an interview and a demonstration (demo) teaching lesson.
