SNAP — the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test — is the entrance test conducted by Symbiosis International (Deemed University) for admission to the MBA and management programmes run by its constituent institutes, the best known of which are the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM) Pune and the Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development (SCMHRD). A single SNAP score is the common first filter for the university's B-schools; each institute then runs its own shortlisting and selection round.

The test is a fast, 60-minute paper of 60 questions across three sections — General English, Quantitative/Data Interpretation/Data Sufficiency, and Analytical & Logical Reasoning. Every correct answer earns 1 mark and every wrong answer costs 0.25, so the exam rewards accuracy and smart question selection under a tight clock rather than attempting everything blindly.

SNAP gives you a percentile, not a seat. After results, you apply to individual Symbiosis institutes — SIBM Pune, SCMHRD, SIIB and others — each of which shortlists candidates above its own percentile bar and calls them for a group exercise, personal interview and written ability test (GE-PI-WAT). Final selection weighs your SNAP percentile alongside that round and your academic and work-experience profile.

Because there is no sectional time limit, section strategy matters: read the comprehension and reasoning sets efficiently, bank the quick quantitative and data-sufficiency marks, and use the reasoning section — the largest — to build your score. Timed full-length mocks are the best way to learn how to allocate the 60 minutes and how many questions to attempt at your accuracy level.
