SSC CPO (Sub-Inspector) Mock Tests, Syllabus & Complete Exam Guide

SSC CPO is the Staff Selection Commission's recruitment exam for the post of Sub-Inspector (SI) in the Delhi Police and in the Central Armed Police Forces — the BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP and SSB. Unlike the Constable-level SSC GD, it recruits at a supervisory rank and needs a bachelor's degree, so it draws graduates aiming for a direct-entry officer-track role in the police and paramilitary forces.

The selection has four parts: Paper I (a 2-hour, 200-question Computer Based Test across Reasoning, General Knowledge & Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension), a Physical Standard Test and Physical Endurance Test (PST/PET), Paper II (an English language and comprehension paper), and a Detailed Medical Examination. Because Paper I has negative marking and is speed-based at graduate level, accuracy under time is what carries you into the physical stages, and the combined Paper I and Paper II scores decide final merit.

Paper I is graduate level but rewards familiar SSC territory: drill coding-decoding, series, analogy, blood relations and puzzles in Reasoning, and arithmetic, algebra, geometry, mensuration and data interpretation in Quantitative Aptitude until they are quick and automatic. General Awareness is high-return and stable — build static GK across polity, history, geography, economy and science, and keep up with current affairs steadily over time.

English Comprehension rewards grammar, vocabulary, idioms, error spotting and reading comprehension — and it matters twice, since Paper II is an English paper. Because every wrong answer costs a quarter mark, disciplined attempting matters: solve what you know quickly and avoid blind guesses. Full-length timed mocks build the stamina and section-balance the 2-hour paper demands, and consistent running and physical practice prepares you for the PST/PET well before you reach it.
