A national examination that recruits Assistant Commandants (Group A officers) into the Central Armed Police Forces — the BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP and SSB — to lead and command troops in border guarding, internal security and industrial protection roles.

What is the UPSC CAPF (AC) exam?

The UPSC CAPF (AC) examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission to recruit Assistant Commandants — Group A gazetted officers — into the Central Armed Police Forces: the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).
