VITEEE — the VIT Engineering Entrance Examination — is the entrance test conducted by Vellore Institute of Technology for admission to its B.Tech programmes. A single VITEEE rank is used to admit students across four campuses: the flagship campus at Vellore, and campuses at Chennai, Amaravati in Andhra Pradesh (VIT-AP) and Bhopal. It is one of the most-taken private-university engineering entrances in India because a single test opens seats on all four campuses.

The exam is computer-based and remote-proctored, so it can be taken from home within a booking window. It has 125 questions for 125 marks in 2 hours 30 minutes, spread across five parts — Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology, Aptitude and English. Crucially there is no negative marking, so the exam rewards attempting every question and managing time well rather than cautious guessing. Branch and campus are then decided by your VITEEE rank at counselling.

The syllabus is built on the Class 11 and 12 (CBSE-style) Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics course, at a moderate difficulty — closer to board and application level than the toughest competitive papers. That makes accuracy and coverage across the whole syllabus more valuable than a handful of very hard problems. Because there is no negative marking, the winning habit is to attempt all 125 questions, banking the Aptitude and English marks that many aspirants ignore.

Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics carry 110 of the 125 marks, so they decide your rank; keep every chapter warm rather than leaving gaps. The 10 Aptitude questions (data interpretation, series, direction sense, clocks and basic reasoning) and 5 English questions (grammar, vocabulary, comprehension and sentence completion) are quick, high-return marks.
