About mba & management exams
The MBA track is led by CAT — the Common Admission Test that gatekeeps the IIMs and most top Indian B-schools — alongside global tests like the GMAT Focus Edition for international programmes. These exams don't test memorised syllabus so much as reasoning: how quickly and accurately you read, compute and interpret under severe time pressure.
CAT's three sections — Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Ability — each run on their own clock, and the paper mixes MCQs with typed (TITA) answers that carry no negative marking. That structure rewards section strategy as much as raw ability.
Percentiles, not marks, decide calls, and the difference between a 95th and 99th percentile is a handful of well-chosen attempts. Realistic, sectionally-timed mocks are the most direct way to build that judgement.

How is the CAT exam scored?
CAT is scored on a scaled basis and then converted to percentiles across three sections — VARC, DILR and QA. Calls from the IIMs are based on percentiles, sectional cut-offs and profile, not raw marks alone. Our CAT mocks report a section-wise breakdown to mirror this.
What is a TITA question in CAT?
TITA (Type In The Answer) questions require you to type a numerical or short answer instead of selecting an option, and they carry no negative marking. Because there's no penalty, you should attempt every TITA you can reason towards — the ExamguruX player reflects this scoring.
How many sections does CAT have and are they timed separately?
CAT has three sections — Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Ability — each on its own timer, so you cannot move marks or minutes between them. Sectional practice is therefore essential.
